Francis Agadaga still remembers events of that fateful evening. He could have been a widower by now. On September 12, 2014, he rushed to an Automated Teller Machine point in his neighbourhood at Igando, a Lagos suburb, to pick some cash with which to take his ailing wife, Sandra, to the hospital. It was a tough period for the family. The N7, 850 left in his bank account would go a long way in dousing the situation if he could get access to the fund. After inserting his card into one of the ATMs and requesting to withdraw N7, 000, what followed almost left the father of two in tears.


Under dictator Kim Jong-Un's oppressive rule, North Koreans can be executed for more than 20 different crimes, many of them ambiguous, without a fair trial.

The list emerged in the wake of the brutal murder of the country's defence minister for falling asleep during military meetings and answering back to Kim.

Five kidnapping suspects, Esther Faith Philips, Patricia Inna, Kingsley Okonwa, Osita Adigwe and Uzochukwu Ezioha, have been sentenced to a joint 180 years in prison by  Justice Olabisi Akinlade of an Igbosere High Court, after being convicted of robbery and abduction.
They were charged to court for conspiring together to rob and kidnap one Ayodele Olaoye on April 22, 2012 along Iba-LASU Road, Lagos.


Ciera Ross, a mother of two, has been arrested and charged with raping a man. According to CBS Chicago, Ross and a friend were driving on the North Side of Chicago when they saw a man walking down the street in late July.

Ross, 25, stopped and asked the 33-year-old man if he wanted a ride. The man took the offer, but Ross’ true intentions became evident when she pulled a gun on the man. She forced the man to go to the backseat and told him to have sex with her friend. The man pleaded for the women to stop after they made him fondle the woman’s breasts and butt.

A 32-year-old Lebanese, Amira Abdallahi, along with five other suspects, have been arrested by the police for alleged robberies and frauds totalling N20m in different parts of Lagos and Abuja.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspects ─ Princewill Eze, 55; Daniel Okpara, 30; Paul Irior, 37; Bassey Ekpenyong, 39; Royal Nwabuike, 32; and the Lebanese ─ disguised as officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and wore the commission’s branded vests.

A 28-year-old man, Amish Kansagra, has been arrested and charged for attempted murder after stabbing his 35-year-old girlfriend, Anna Improrowicz, because a man smiled at her at the at a club.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Nkanu East/Nkanu West Federal Constituency in Enugu State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ujam, was on Saturday arrested by eagle eyed soldiers drafted to provide security for the presidential and National Assembly elections. Ujam was arrested with over 4,000 Permanent Voter Cards. He was arrested by the soldiers at Ozalla in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. However, after much pressure from the Enugu State Government House, Ujam was released.

More than 200 girls who were abducted by Boko Haram from government secondary school, Chibok, Borno State, in April 2014 are in Gwoza, The Cable, an online medium, on Wednesday quoted Mbutu Papka, a woman who was recently freed after eight months in the sect’s captivity, to have said.
