Okonjo-Iweala, Allison-Madueke, others to appear before Senate on Monday.

The Senate Joint Committees on Petroleum Resources has reportedly summoned the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the Minister of Petroleum Diezani Allison-Madueke over the lingering fuel scarcity in the country.
The two Ministers and other stakeholders are expected to appear before the committee on Monday, May 25.
Report says the Committees also summoned the Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation; Managing Director Petroleum Pricing and Regulatory Agency; and the Director of the Department of Petroleum Resources.

According to a statement issued by the committees’ chairmen, Senators Emmanuel Paulker and Magnus Abe, the oil and gas stakeholders are invited as a result of the work given to them by the Senate.
Also invited are the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria; Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria and the National Association of Road Transport Owners.
The Senate had, on Thursday, May 21, given its Committees on Petroleum Resources two weeks to get to the root of the unending fuel crisis in the country and report back.
