Nigerian soldiers have discovered dozens of corpses inside a well in Bama, Borno State.
Bama, the second largest town in Borno, was recently recaptured from Boko Haram.
The corpses are believed to be those of victims who resisted the terrorists or of those who died in captivity.
“Aside
those whose bodies were thrown inside wells, others were also said to
have been executed on the River Bama Bridge as the terrorists fled the
town,” a statement released by PR Nigeria, the public relations agent for the Nigerian military, read.
Bama was conquered by Boko Haram on September 11, 2014 and recaptured by troops on Monday, March 16.
